There is no doubt that most people have a hobby. Most people also try to pursue it whenever they have the opportunity, often much to the chagrin of family and friends. So there is no doubt that hobbies should be fun and calming. But even so, it can still happen that one experiences a kind of burnout, i.e., as the enthusiasm cools down, one practically pursues it out of a sense of obligation.

This, of course, can make us resentful and we may even get angry with ourselves, especially if we have invested a lot of time and money. But we should not be angry with ourselves. This turns out to be a perfectly normal phenomenon, especially if we are truly dedicated to the cause. For example, this is the case when we enter a match and prepare intensively for a tournament. We may fall behind, but there is no need to worry.

Of course, it is not pleasant when this happens to us. Fortunately, there is no need to give up the hobby and look for a new one. Usually, the solution is quite simple: take a break from the hobby for a while and focus on it. After a while, you will find that your old enthusiasm will return.

But why does this happen when you enjoy your hobby so much? The answer is that the brain is exhausted from focusing on the same thing for long periods of time. And a relatively short break during an intense workout is far from enough for full recovery. No wonder, then, that the brain shows us it is frustrated. And ignoring this signal can lead to many unpleasant complications.

Thus, the well-known saying “everything in moderation” also applies to hobbies. Of course, it is not always possible to follow this, especially if one wants to achieve some degree of success. Nevertheless, it is good to strive to do so, at least to the extent of one\’s ability. We definitely owe it to our bodies.
