Double standard on alcohol

According to the World Health Organization, the recommended daily amount of alcohol is zero. Not even one glass. Alcohol is a poison, a drug that is not good for our bodies at all. I probably don\’t need to write about the symptoms associated with excessive drinking.

On the other hand, one can find opinions (even from reputable doctors) that two glasses of wine a day for men and one glass of wine for women are fine. In our country, few people are completely abstinent from alcohol. Alcohol is commonly sold, there is a minimum of beer in the summer garden, and no one is surprised if a mother has a wine spritzer in the pram during the hot and humid summer months. Society and the state are tolerant when it comes to alcohol.

Unfortunately, however, alcohol can be addictive. And where are the measures to prevent this? How do you know if you already have a drinking problem? Let\’s look together at the most important signs:

1) You drink secretly

You are ashamed to drink alcohol and feel guilty when you do. Hides bottles of alcohol in all kinds of places so that they are not seen drinking.

2) Enjoys drinking throughout the day

Drinking alcohol is the center of his/her day. I can\’t wait to get off work in the morning and have a drink. And in the unlikely event that your boss asks you to work overtime and your drinking goes wrong, you will be very upset and frustrated.

[iii] You need alcohol to perform your normal work

You have become accustomed to drinking alcohol and performing your normal activities because even a drop of alcohol in your blood makes you feel better. Need to make a phone call? Have a drink beforehand. How about sex? It is better to have alcohol. Family day trip? Take a bottle of white in a thermos.

4) Drink every day

You need at least a small amount of alcohol every day. In fact, I can\’t even remember when I have ever gone an entire day without drinking alcohol. And even if I can hardly tolerate it one day, I can always make up for it the next day.
