Otherwise, the living areas, i.e. the living room or bedroom, would face the street, where it can be very busy most of the day. It all depends on how big the plot is and how it is situated with respect to the cardinal points. The ideal shape is then rectangular. This is not the case with village houses, the plots are narrow and long and only behind the house is there space for a garden where the sun reaches most of the day, also because the buildings are usually low.
Another option is a garden located in front of the house itself. It certainly doesn\’t detract from the quality of living, you just need to think about how to hide the garden, whether to plant a hedge or choose a walled option.
