If you are a beginner, love decorating, and enjoy making changes to your home, you should probably be wary. Here are the most common mistakes amateur designers make in their apartments. How can you avoid these mistakes and what should you watch out for? See below.
1. Beautiful but uncomfortable
It is indeed beautiful looking furniture. It is truly designer perfect, fits the interior, and is very tasteful, but it is not comfortable. No matter how much you sit on it, you can\’t push yourself down, or sit comfortably, or stand up straight, or have a sore butt. Unfortunately, sometimes, although you bought a chair or sofa, it was more of a designer item than a practical one.
Or there is another problem. The furniture is really beautiful and everyone would love to have it in their home, but unfortunately it doesn\’t fit the style of your apartment and makes the whole composition of your apartment look like you\’ve blinded yourself with your fist. Moreover, it takes up half of your living room and is a completely different color than the rest of your furniture and walls.
2. Crazy and bold
Remember. Before you start painting the walls, you need to try out the mixed shades on the sides of the door frames. Imagine how it will look and then paint the entire room. Rich, bold colors only look good on one side of the wall, so the rest should be less bold.
3. Saving in the Wrong Places
As you probably know, you save for a car or for a vacation or Christmas presents. But sometimes you need to avoid overdoing it or saving in the wrong places. For example, if you break your leg by your bed, don\’t try to prop it up with a book or glue your feet together with heels. Just buy a new bed and there is nothing you can do about it.
4. Art or Crap
You went to an art show or auction and brought home a beautiful piece. Or the piece was raved about by everyone and you thought you needed it for that reason, but it didn\’t feel like art at all. It\’s a cliché.
